Dr. William J. Turtle
Dr. William Turtle is a native of Cranston, RI. He graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Brown University in 1981 with an Honors degree in Biomedical Sciences and subsequently studied at The University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY, graduating in 1985. He completed a three year Pediatrics residency at RI Hospital (Brown University Program in Medicine) in 1988 and was Chief Resident in Pediatrics at RI Hospital from 1988 to 1989.
Dr. Turtle has been in the private practice of Pediatrics since 1989 and is Board Certified by The American Board of Pediatrics as well as a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is the recipient of numerous accolades including having been named a Top Doc by RI Monthly Magazine from 1998-2008, selected as one of the “Best Doctors in America” from 2006-2012, and also has received several “Patient Choice” awards.
An avid reader, jogger and baseball fan, he lives in Barrington, RI and also enjoys spending time with his wife Jean, son Billy and daughter Emily. He is a communicant at St. Luke’s Church in Barrington.

Dr. Gregory Fox
Dr. Gregory Fox joined Pediatric Associates in 2003. He received his undergraduate degree in economics from Cornell University, and his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Fox completed a residency in Pediatrics and a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. He is Board Certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology.
Dr. Fox is active in the local pediatric community as a board member of the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is chair or their School Health and Childhood Obesity subcommittees. He is the school physician for the Rhode Island League of Charter Schools, and works with the Rhode Island Department of Health on several committees related to childhood obesity and diabetes. Dr. Fox is the camp doctor each year for Camp Surefire, Rhode Island’s only summer camp for children with diabetes.
Dr. Fox lives in Bristol with his wife and two children. He enjoys watching and playing baseball, hiking, camping and reading.

Dr. Alexandra Labovitz
Dr. Alexandra Labovitz is a board certified pediatrician who joined Pediatric Associates in 2008. She received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Lutheran General Children’s Hospital outside of Chicago. She practiced for four years at a well-respected group practice in the Midwest before relocating back to New England to be near family.
Dr. Labovitz is especially interested in child development, nutrition and preventative healthcare. She enjoys encouraging new parents, supporting breastfeeding mothers, watching children grow and learn to navigate adolescence, and educating families. When not seeing patients, Dr. Labovitz is kept busy by her son and daughter at home.

Dr. Kimberley Townsend
Dr. Kimberley Townsend was born in Washington, DC. After high school she was accepted into the Brown University Program in Liberal Medical Education. She received her undergraduate degree in 1989 with BAs in both Economics and Health and Society. She graduated from the Brown University Medical School in 1993. In 1996 she completed her residency training at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH. She returned to Rhode Island and began her practice at Pediatric Associates in August of 1996. Dr. Townsend is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Townsend is married and has two sons. She lives in Lincoln. She enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, knitting and jewelry making.

Dr. Robert T. Griffith
Dr. Robert T. Griffith Jr has been part of Pediatric Associates since 1997. He completed his undergraduate education at Hobart College in 1979 with a BS in Biology summa cum laude with highest honors in Biology. After receiving his MD degree from the University of Rochester in 1983, he came to Rhode Island for Pediatric postgraduate training. He was the Chief resident of Pediatrics during the 1986-1987 academic year. Dr. Griffith was in private practice from 1987-1993 and was employed by Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare in Providence (1993-1997) before joining Pediatric Associates in the spring of 1997. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
In addition to practicing with Pediatric Associates he is the Pediatric medical director for Meeting Street Center in Providence. Meeting Street is a fully inclusive facility for children birth through age 22 with a particular emphasis on serving children with special healthcare needs. He has been named one of Rhode Island’s Top Doctors by Rhode Island Monthly for the past 20 years and named one of the Best Doctors in America. Dr. Griffith is happily married and the proud father of two daughters.

Dr. Andree Heinl
Dr. Andree Heinl was born and raised in Rhode Island. After graduating from Bishop Feehan High School, she was accepted into Born University’s 7 year Program in Liberal Medical Education. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1983, having majored in Biology. She graduated from Brown Medical School in 1986. Dr. Heinl completed her pediatric residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital and has been practicing with Pediatric Associates since 1990. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Heinl is married. Her husband is an emergency room physician and they have three children. She enjoys cooking, knitting, skiing and sailing on Narragansett Bay.
Our staff
Pediatric Associates is a medical practice that includes board-certified pediatricians, certified medical assistants, registered nurses, receptionists, telephone receptionists, referral coordinators, and parent consultants.
We also have a fully staffed laboratory including phlebotomy services and in-house lab services such as CBC, urinalysis, lipid/cholesterol, strep evaluation and rapid flu testing.
